Earlier, we wrote about the conditions the “Kremlin hedonists” create for their opponents in prisons — and how this often leads to an outcome they deem “necessary.” It has now become known that another political prisoner has died before reaching release: Alexander Dotsenko.

Neither Dotsenko’s daughter nor his lawyer were informed in time that he had been in intensive care since February 12 — this became known only on February 14. A support group wrote at the time: “Friends, we have very bad news about Sasha. Two days ago Sasha was taken to the hospital with a massive heart attack. His condition is still critical” (https://t.me/FreeAsyaSasha/666).

Later, today, the same group reported that the political prisoner had died: “Sasha is no longer with us. He passed away at 16:00” (https://t.me/FreeAsyaSasha/672). We extend our condolences to Alexander Dotsenko’s family and loved ones.

On July 18, 2024, the First Western District Military Court found spouses Anastasia Dyudyaeva and Alexander Dotsenko guilty under Article 205.2(1) of the Russian Criminal Code — for distributing anti-war leaflets in a Saint Petersburg hypermarket. They did not plead guilty. The court sentenced Anastasia Dyudyaeva to 3.5 years in a settlement colony and Alexander Dotsenko to 3 years in a settlement colony.
