We, the liberal public, often condemn those citizens of Russia who did not condemn the war. But an increasingly sharp question arises: should we do that, given the sincerity of the delusion of those who believed the system leaders’ lies about “why the war is necessary”? Their “sincerity” lies in the fact that they went to war believing the state would treat them like human beings and uphold their rights. In reality, they face a complete erasure of rights—no right to life, no right to medical care, rehabilitation, leave, or even to have a fixed-term contract end when its term has expired. There is only one order: go into battle and die.

This is exactly what a company commander says with tears in his eyes—and it confirms that such treatment applies not only to rank-and-file soldiers, but also to officers, running through the entire chain of command. His final words are especially eloquent and convey the full pain of the situation:
“I fulfilled my duty to the Motherland, shed blood, and lost comrades. Now the system I defended is trying to finish me off—physically and morally—for refusing to take part in a senseless practice from the standpoint of military effectiveness and humanity.”

Lieutenant Timofeyev Pavel Nikolayevich, born 21.09.1981, personal number AV-479031—commander of the 7th company of the 3rd motorized rifle battalion of the 433rd Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment (military unit 00991 — https://t.me/ne_zhdi_novosti/4776) of the 27th Motorized Rifle Division—recorded an address in which he spoke about the criminal actions of the regiment’s command and demanded an inspection in the unit, and also stated that because of these problems he was forced to leave the unit without authorization:
“My address is not just a report—it is a desperate attempt to achieve legality and stop arbitrariness that puts my life, my health, and the lives of my subordinates at risk.”

According to him, on 28.10.2025 he was wounded. After treatment in a hospital and removal of stitches, on 03.12.2025 the wound reopened with a purulent infection. He claims that until 21.12.2025 he was treated on an outpatient basis in the battalion’s medical platoon and was not combat-capable due to severe pain, limited mobility, and loss of sensation.

Timofeyev states that on 21.12.2025 he received an order from the battalion commander, Senior Lieutenant Druzhinin, to move out on a combat mission despite his health condition. He reports that he submitted a written report to the unit commander dated 21.12.2025, indicating his moral-psychological condition and health problems; he showed his wound to the deputy commander for political affairs and had a conversation with the regiment’s psychologist—yet his appeals were ignored.

Timofeyev further indicated that on 25.12.2025 the battalion chief of staff, Markin, allegedly ignored medical documents and ordered him to go to the training ground. After he refused, he was unlawfully detained by military police, and until 28.12.2025 Timofeyev was kept in an unheated basement. On 28.12.2025, according to him, after being released he was transferred to the 1st battalion of the 433rd regiment, where he was again ordered to go to the training ground.

The lieutenant also reports systematic violations of the right to leave. He notes that prolonged continuous deployment in the “SVO” zone worsens the family situation: his wife and two underage children are in Cheboksary, which further aggravates his psychological condition.

Timofeyev reports a severe moral-psychological state and claims it was documented by the regiment’s psychologist. In his address he describes the consequences of participation in combat operations, including insomnia and nightmares, and also mentions suicidal thoughts, stating that he is on the verge of a breakdown and cannot fully carry out his duties as a company commander:
“My condition has reached a critical point, and I am on the verge of a breakdown.”

In addition, the officer sharply criticized the organization of service, claiming that recruit training has been reduced to 4–5 days, and that soldiers who have not fully recovered from wounds are, in his words, systematically sent on missions (https://t.me/ne_zhdi_novosti/4516). Because of this, many servicemen take their own lives (https://t.me/ne_zhdi_novosti/3549). He also stated that cases of servicemen’s deaths are being hushed up and inadequately investigated, referred to in the address as “self-inflicted shootings” (“samostrely”) (https://t.me/ne_zhdi_novosti/4384?single):
“I state criminal negligence leading to unjustified losses: recruit training has been reduced to 4–5 days, which is equivalent to sending them to their deaths.”

The lieutenant asks to initiate internal and prosecutorial inspections based on the described facts, order an urgent military medical commission examination, ensure psychological and psychiatric assistance, provide a legal assessment of the actions of officials of the command of military unit 00991 and the military police, and also secure unused leave and a transfer for further service within the Russian Federation closer to his place of residence.

At present, according to him, the officer fled the unit’s location because they tried to forcibly send him on a combat mission. He is now trying to reach the military prosecutor’s office on his own in order to give testimony.
